Slavic Artists Management Hosts Successful Actors Workshop in Montenegro

Slavic Artists Management and Actors Association of Montenegro, in collaboration with the Montenegro Film Center, proudly announce the successful completion of an engaging and informative actors workshop held at the National Theater of Montenegro in Podgorica. The event, which took place on May 9th, 2024, attracted a diverse group of talented actors, providing them with invaluable insights into the casting process and clarity on what client-agent relationship looks like.

The workshop featured two talent agents from Slavic Artists Management, Milena Šmigić and Nevena Petrović, alongside a director and casting director Aleksa Mihajlović, and actor and casting director Nikola Todorović, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals. The five-hour session included a simulated casting process based on the selftapes the actors got to do a week before. It was designed to give actors a realistic experience and practical tips for future auditions, both from the talent agents and from the casting directors. The interactive nature of the event allowed participants to receive personalized feedback and advice, which they can apply to their future endeavors.

In addition to the practical exercises, the talent agents led a discussion on the client-agent relationship, emphasizing the importance of trust, communication and mutual goals. They also highlighted key differences between the European and local film industry markets, noting the unique opportunities and challenges each presents. This conversation aimed to clarify what casting directors look for and to help actors approach auditions with confidence and preparation, but also to broaden the actors’ understanding of the industry dynamics and how to navigate their careers effectively within different contexts.

The reason this workshop was organized is because Slavic Artists Management goal was to demystify the casting process and equip actors with the tools they need to succeed in this competitive industry. Alongside with Actors Association of Montenegro and supported by the Montenegro Film Center, this workshop underscores a shared commitment to fostering talent and enhancing the professional development of actors in the region.

By investing in local talent, we can contribute to the growth of the film industry.
