Dejan Bućin is a German actor of Serbian origin. He was born in Yugoslavia in 1985 and grew up partly in Belgrade, partly in Germany and Austria.
After first acting experiences at SchauspielFrankfurt in 2003, he began his studies at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich in 2005. While still a student, he became a member of the Berliner Ensemble, where he appeared in numerous productions and worked with directors such as Robert Wilson, Peter Stein and Martin Wuttke. Since 2012, Dejan has been working as a freelance artist with several renowned theaters across Germany, as well as on national and international TV and film productions. His acclaimed theatrical works have been featured in festivals in more than 20 countries around the globe. Notable internationally acclaimed play productions include his work with Yael Ronen (Common Ground and Point Of No Return) and Robert Wilson (The Threepenny Opera and Shakespeare's Sonnets), as well as his notable appearances in film and television, such as the Amazon Prime series Carnival Row. Recent projects include the Serbian feature film and series project Bad Blood, as well as the highly anticipated feature The Way Of The Wind directed by Terrence Malick.
In addition to his acting work, he has already gained experience in the visual and performing arts, as well as in the curatorial field. In 2020 he was the initiator and director of the internationally acclaimed Corona Short Film Festival, followed his first directorial work with the short film LAMENTO in 2022.
